Today, hospitals in each region of Ukraine, united into one hospital district, will be further divided into hospital clusters.
In Ukraine, the infrastructure phase of medical reform begins with the division of hospitals into hospital clusters. This was reported by the Ministry of Health.
It was reported that the Verkhovna Rada adopted on second reading the bill No. 6306, allowing the launch of infrastructure as part of health care reform.
According to the new approach, the regional hospital network, combined into one hospital district, will be further divided into hospital clusters, taking into account: the boundaries of administrative-territorial units; geographical features of the region and the state of the roads; current and expected demographic characteristics of the population, the structure of morbidity and mortality; optimal clinical routes for patients for timely access to medical care and rehabilitation based on the principles of evidence-based medicine; burden on health care workers and rehabilitation professionals.
In addition, according to the types of medical care provided in cluster hospitals, they can be divided into supra-cluster, cluster and general hospitals.
“Building a network of hospitals in the hospital district according to the cluster principle will clearly determine which hospitals should have what equipment and what quantity. And these hospitals and this equipment are the will be the focus of priority in terms of restoration Ukraine, “said Health Minister Viktor Lyashko.
The simplest cases will be treated as close as possible to the patient, in general hospitals, located at the rate of one medical facility per 50,000-80,000 people. In more complex cases, the patient is taken to cluster and supra-cluster hospitals with highly specialized services.
It will be recalled that the Rada Committee had earlier approved the cannabis bill.
