EU ministers agreed on new sanctions against Iran for transferring ballistic missiles to Russia. FAZ reported this on Monday, October 14.
The decision is said to have been agreed at a meeting in Luxembourg. German Minister for European Affairs Anna Luhrmann previously said that there is very clear evidence that Iran has transferred ballistic missiles, and “this is clearly incompatible with peace commitments.”
“We are working to ensure that Ukrainians have the right to decide their own future, therefore, Russia should not be supported militarily,” he said.
It is not yet known who is included in the sanctions list. The names will be published in the official EU journal.
As part of the sanctions, European businesses will not be allowed to do business with companies and people where restrictions have been introduced. Sanctions also include the freezing of accounts and assets, as well as a ban on entry into the EU.
Let’s recall that on September 6, The Wall Street Journal reported that Iran sent short-range ballistic missiles to Russia.
A few days later it became known that the European Union had started preparing new sanctions against Iran.
