The United States is ready to negotiate with Russia, China and North Korea to reduce the nuclear threat.
These negotiations are possible “without preconditions.” Neither their countries nor the world would benefit from blocking progress in reducing nuclear arsenals. US President Joe Biden stated this, the White House press service reports.
These nuclear risks undermine the norms and agreements we have worked together to establish and contradict the vital work of today’s Nobel laureates,” the American leader emphasized.
Biden said that in 20923, while visiting Hiroshima, Japan, he spoke with a survivor of the August 1945 nuclear bombing. This man told the US leader that “we must continue to move towards the day when we can finally and forever deprive the world of nuclear weapons.”
As is known, nine countries possess nuclear weapons – the USA, Great Britain, France, China, India, Pakistan, North Korea, Israel and the Russian Federation.
Let us remind you that on October 14, NATO will begin the Steadfast Noon nuclear exercises in Belgium and the Netherlands. Military weapons will not be used during the exercises. However, the military will simulate missions in which aircraft will carry American nuclear warheads. Almost 2 thousand military personnel will participate in the maneuvers. The exercises will last about two weeks.
