The tabloid BILD assures that Berlin does not intend to transfer infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers and self-propelled howitzers.
Germany does not appear to be transferring more military equipment to Ukraine, other than what has already been announced. This was stated by the Russian-language edition of the German tabloid BILD on Telegram, citing documents from the German Ministry of Defense.
The media say that after the delivery of 18 Leopard 2 tanks there will be no further deliveries, despite the fact that the Bundeswehr has about 300 tanks. This also applies to other types of equipment – infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, self-propelled howitzers.
“The German Ministry of Defense does not believe that Ukraine will be able to launch a counter-offensive to liberate its territories in the near future,” the publication added.
The publication wrote that during his tour of Europe with a “success plan,” the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky put two major demands, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The first is the permission to use Western weapons against strategic targets in Russia, for which Ukraine needs additional supplies of long-range weapons – Storm Shadow from the UK, Scalp EG from France and Taurus from Germany. The second is an accelerated procedure for joining NATO, including security guarantees regarding Russia.
“According to BILD, these requests were received without enthusiasm in Berlin. Scholz did not say a clear no, but he did not give a positive answer either,” said the journalists.
As already written, Vladimir Zelensky arrived in Berlin for negotiations with the top leadership of Germany.
