Several Russian military officials acknowledged the loss of the plane, but tried to explain it as a “technical malfunction.”
On October 12, Russian media reported the disappearance of a Su-34 fighter jet with its crew. It may have been shot down by a Ukrainian F-16. This is stated in the report of the American Institute for the Study of War.
One of the prominent Russian military officials confirmed the death of the Su-34 crew, but argued that this loss was allegedly not related to Ukrainian activity. Other military experts have suggested that the Su-34 may have crashed as a result of a technical malfunction or human error.
However, the Russian Telegram channel, allegedly run by Airborne Forces officers and employees of the Russian Dnepr group, claims that a Ukrainian F-16 fighter was involved in the downing of the Su-34.
“A Ukrainian F-16 fighter apparently shot down a Russian Su-34 fighter when the Su-34 dropped FAB glide bombs with unified planning and correction modules (UMPC) at a distance of about 50 km from the front line,” analysts said. .
At the same time, the Telegram channel accused Kremlin-linked war cows of lying about the Su-34 crash and preventing Russian forces from developing plans to counter the Ukrainian F-16 threat.
“ISW could not independently confirm the statement of the Telegram channel, but if confirmed, this incident would be the first time that the Ukrainians shot down a Russian manned aircraft with a Western F-16 fighter,” the report said.
We remind you that a Russian plane was shot down in the Konstantinovka area of the Donetsk region. Perhaps we are talking about the Su-25.
