The Russian army is trying to maintain the offensive tempo at the front by building up new reserves.
The mobilization of the main cities of Russia can be a problem for the Kremlin, former commander of the US Army in Europe, General Ben Hodges, said on Saturday, October 12, writes Espresso.
According to him, sooner or later the Russian generals will have to start recruiting young people from Moscow and St. Petersburg, which could cause a wave of protests.
“The Russians are trying to maintain the offensive tempo by building new reserves. In particular, this tactic only works as long as they have enough people who can be thrown to the front line,” he explained.
Hodges believes that the main task for Ukraine is the destruction of Russian artillery, headquarters and logistics.
“After all, it is logistics, artillery, air bases and aircraft that make it effective. Therefore, if Ukraine manages to weaken or destroy these key elements, Russia will definitely have to change its tactics.”
NATO defense ministers will meet next week to rethink the alliance’s Russia policy in response to the threat posed by the Kremlin.
Zelensky recently visited London, Paris, Rome and Berlin. The Ukrainian leader presented the details of the victory plan to his partners – now they will work at the team level.
