We are talking about several thousand North Korean infantrymen who could be on the front line by the end of this year.
Thousands of North Korean troops are in Russia undergoing training ahead of possible deployment to the war in Ukraine. This was reported by The Washington Post, citing sources.
“A Ukrainian military intelligence official, who wished to remain anonymous, said that “several thousand” North Korean infantrymen are currently being trained in Russia and could be sent to the front lines in Ukraine by the end of this year,” the article said.
The same intelligence official said North Korean officials are in Russian-occupied Ukraine to monitor Russian troops and study the battlefield, but “Kyiv has not seen any North Korean units to war.”
Earlier, South Korea called the DPRK’s military deployment to Ukraine “likely.” And the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andrei Kovalenko, noted that Pyongyang has already sent a limited number of its military, mainly engineers, to Ukraine.
We remind you that the media wrote that on October 3, a missile strike near Donetsk killed more than 20 invaders, including six officers from North Korea who came for negotiations with their “colleagues” in Russia.
