Jacob Wagner caught a catfish 2.64 meters long in the Vranovsky reservoir, located near the Austrian border.
Famous Czech fisherman Jakob Wagner broke his own record by catching a giant catfish 2.64 meters long. Bild reported this yesterday.
It is stated that in June of this year, Wagner caught a catfish 2.61 meters long, but today he caught a bigger fish from the Vranovsky reservoir, which is located near the Austrian border.
According to Wagner, he had seen the giant catfish before, but then the fish fled to the depths of the lake.
“I lost him last summer and I hope to find him again,” said the fisherman.
Wagner spent a lot of time on the water to try again to catch the fish of his dreams. When the catfish finally bit, a struggle began, which ended in Wagner’s victory – he barely pulled the victim to shore.
“When this giant appeared at my feet, I was amazed and realized that it was a larger specimen than I had seen before,” said Wagner, who did not specify the catfish’s weight.
The fisherman practices the catch-and-release principle. After each successful fishing, he returns the fish to the lake.
Earlier in Kyiv, in Desenets, a local resident caught a giant catfish weighing more than 90 kilograms and two and a half meters long.
