The city is home to the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant. The cause of the explosion is unknown, but an air raid warning was announced before it.

A loud explosion on the night of Saturday, October 12, was heard in the city of Kurchatov, Kursk region of the Russian Federation, where the nuclear power plant is located. Local publics report it.

It is known that the explosion occurred shortly after the alarm was announced due to the danger of the UAV.

A video of the explosion was also published. It is assumed that the explosion may be related to the air defense operation.

Let’s recall that in early October, the Russians made another provocation, announcing that the Ukrainian Armed Forces allegedly tried to attack the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant in Kurchatov. Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said reports of alleged Ukrainian attacks on or near the Kursk nuclear power plant are false.

Later, social networks reported that a shell exploded in Kurchatov, five kilometers from the Kursk nuclear power plant.
