The last time South Korea launched the Taurus was in 2017 in response to North Korea’s sixth nuclear test.
In South Korea, despite continued nuclear and missile threats, the DPRK conducted its first military exercises in seven years with combat launches of long-range Taurus cruise missiles. Yonhap reports.
It was learned that the Taurus launches were carried out on October 8 and 10 from F-15K fighters.
According to the South Korean Air Force, the missiles flew 400 kilometers and successfully hit several targets in the Yellow Sea.
The last time South Korea launched the Taurus was in 2017 in response to North Korea’s sixth nuclear test.
As is known, when this cruise missile, whose flight speed reaches 1,163 km/h, is launched from an area near Seoul, it is capable of hitting any important target throughout North Korea within 15 minutes with an accuracy of 3 meters.
Let’s recall that in September the United States and South Korea conducted exercises to land several thousand amphibious troops on the Korean coast of the Sea of Japan, involving dozens of ships, amphibious armored vehicles and combat aircraft.
Relations between South Korea and the DPRK are reportedly at their lowest level in decades as the DPRK seeks to develop its nuclear and missile capabilities and moves toward severing ties with South Korea.
