A US fisherman miraculously survived Hurricane Milton, surviving in the Gulf of Mexico by holding on to a refrigerator that had been washed out to sea.
A man swept out to sea during Hurricane Milton was rescued while clinging to a refrigerator floating in the Gulf of Mexico. The Guardian reported this.
His fishing boat broke down hours before the storm hit the Florida coast. We were able to establish a brief contact with the coast guard, then the connection was lost.
A day later, rescuers found him 48 kilometers from the coast. Coast Guard spokeswoman Dana Grady said: “This man survived horrific conditions that would have challenged even the most experienced sailors.”
