British military may arrive in Ukraine for mobilized training.
The UK military leadership is considering sending military instructors. Plans are being discussed in London for small groups of specialists to travel to western Ukraine. There they will help provide basic training to Ukrainian recruits before they head to the front lines in the east of the country. This was reported by The Times.
Anonymous sources indicate that such a decision by the British would solve some logistical problems associated with sending Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters to bases in the UK for training. This will also save money.
The allies also believe that sending British troops to Ukraine instead of training at military bases in the UK would be “cheaper and better.”
An unnamed Ukrainian representative said that moving the exercises to Ukraine would be a “powerful military-political signal” for other countries and for Russia itself. In addition, Kyiv believes that the deployment of NATO military infrastructure on Ukrainian territory will become a “powerful deterrent.” It will also allow testing of the latest weapons being developed for war.
As is known, tens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers were trained in the UK as part of the multinational military operation Interflex. However, in London it was noted that the greatest obstacle in the training of Ukrainians is the provision of personnel by Ukraine for training.
Let us remind you that the media reported that the European Union is discussing sending its military instructors to Ukraine and the final decision should be made no later than November 2024. Until now, the Ukrainian military has trained only in the EU, primarily in Germany and Poland.
