Great Britain will strengthen the artillery of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces will receive additional AS-90 self-propelled artillery mounts. Supply is planned for this year. Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said this after a meeting with his British counterpart John Gealey, the defense department reported on Telegram.
By the end of the year, more AS-90 artillery systems will appear on the front. There is also good news about long-range weapons and robotic systems – the enemy will feel it on the battlefield, the minister emphasized.
Umerov also agreed with Gili to develop a list of priority needs that would be financed from frozen Russian assets.
In addition, investment in the Ukrainian defense industry became a key issue during the meeting. The primary task is to increase production in the defense-industrial complex.
Umerov emphasized that London is also actively working on training and staffing Ukrainian strategic reserve brigades. There is an agreement to jointly develop a list of priority needs that will be financed from frozen Russian assets.
The Ministry of Defense recalled that the UK provides the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the necessary ammunition: artillery, mortar, air defense and anti-tank mines.
Let us remind you that the first towed howitzer “Bogdana-B” was built in Ukraine. Work on this artillery system was first reported in December 2023.
