Without Russia’s loss, there will be no effective security guarantees and no one will agree to provide them, Mikhail Podolyak said.
There are no concepts of “territory in exchange for security guarantees” or other “bargaining formats” for ending Russia’s war against Ukraine. The adviser to the head of the Office of the President, Mikhail Podolyak, wrote about this in Telegram on Thursday, October 10, commenting on the information of foreign media about the alleged readiness of Kyiv for a ceasefire in exchange for security guarantees.
“Of course, there are no concepts of” territory in lieu of security guarantees. ” said Podolyak.
In his opinion, in this case, Russia will continue its expansion, increasing its volume, realizing that there will be no “final responsibility for the crimes of the masses.”
“And what is the fictitious and vague “withholding of security guarantees” in an unfinished war, if now some of the allies clearly lack the political will to make a completely logical and effective (and simpler) decisions… On weapons and the abolition of informal bans,” – added Podolyak.
Earlier, Italian publication Corriere della Sera wrote that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky was reportedly ready for a ceasefire along the front line without recognizing the new official border with Russia in exchange for security guarantees from the United States and accelerated accession to the European Union.
Let’s recall that on October 9, Zelensky, during a visit to Croatia, said that he sees an opportunity in the coming months to lay the initial conditions for the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2025 on acceptable terms in Ukraine.
In turn, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin formulated the conditions for negotiations with Ukraine. He cynically called for “the opening of a tragic page of history.”
