The Khanskaya military airfield is located 3 km east of the village of Khanskaya, 6 km northwest of the city of Maykop.
The head of the republic, Murat Kumpilov, said that the suburb of Maykop was attacked by enemy drones. According to him, there were no casualties, no injuries.
Firefighters from the Ministry of Emergency Situations are extinguishing the fire. An organized evacuation of residents of the village of Rodnikovo is underway. A temporary accommodation center for citizens has been deployed in the village of Khanskaya, Kumpilov said.
Thick smoke continues to come from the airfield.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the alleged downing of 92 drones, but they did not mention Adygea.
