Law enforcement officers identified the perpetrator of war crimes in Bucha.
Thus, suspicion was identified and reported to the platoon commander of the 3rd airborne company of the 1st battalion tactical group of the 234th airborne assault regiment of the 76th airborne division of the Airborne Forces of the Russian Army. The Office of the Prosecutor General announced this on October 9 on Telegram.
The occupier is charged with committing a violation of the laws and customs of war, coupled with premeditated murder and an attempt at the same crime – Part 2 of Art. 438 and part 3 of Art. 15, part 2 art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
It turned out that in March 2022, during the occupation of Bucha, this attacker saw two locals cooking food over a fire near one of the houses. He opened fire on them with a machine gun without notice.
One of the civilians died from his wounds on the spot. Another was injured and fell. The victim managed to crawl into the entrance of the house and thus escape. The residents of Bucha themselves did not have any weapons with them.
Let us remember that in the spring the Office of the Prosecutor General informed that there are still people considered missing in Bucha. Their search continues. In total, after the de-occupation, the bodies of 422 killed civilians were discovered in Bucha, and 1,190 bodies were found in the Buchansky district.
Law enforcement officers are investigating more than 116 thousand criminal proceedings on facts of war crimes by Russian invaders in Ukraine. Of this amount, 23 thousand were committed by enemies in the Kyiv region.
