The captain of the Turkish Airlines plane died on the flight. The Turkish plane was flying from Seattle to Istanbul. This was reported by the Russian-language editorial office of the German tabloid BILD on its Telegram channel.

“Captain Ilchekhin Pehlivan fell ill at an altitude of about 12 thousand meters, he lost consciousness. The crew immediately began to give him first aid, but the captain’s condition did not improve,” said the media report .

The co-pilot planned to make an emergency landing in New York, but Pehlivan died before the plane landed.

Turkish Airlines confirmed the captain’s death and expressed condolences to the family.

Ilcehin Pehlivan has worked as a pilot for Turkish Airlines since 2007. According to the last medical examination on March 8, 2024, no health problems were found in him.
