An agreement on long-term cooperation and support between Ukraine and Croatia was signed on Wednesday, October 9.
The document was signed by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic. With this agreement, Croatia cements its duty to support Ukraine to victory in the war. This was reported by the Office of the President.
We are talking about cooperation between the defense industry, determining the prospects for joint defense production and localizing projects in Ukraine. The countries will also explore opportunities to strengthen cooperation in the field of digital resilience and cybersecurity and exchange intelligence data.
A separate block concerns support for humanitarian demining. Zagreb has already allocated more than 10 million euros for this area and will continue to provide equipment.
Croatia will help Ukraine in the humanitarian, energy, legal and scientific fields. It also supports Ukraine on its path to the EU and NATO and pledges to continue making efforts to implement the Peace Formula.
Bankova recalled that Croatia has been helping Ukraine since the beginning of Russian aggression in 2014. The total benefit amount from February 2022 is approximately 300 million euros. That’s 11 defensive packages.
Let us recall that in September Ukraine and Ireland entered into an agreement on support and cooperation between the two countries. This agreement provides that in 2024 Ireland will provide Ukraine with a further €128 million in non-lethal military support, as well as at least €40 million in humanitarian assistance.
