Head of the presidential administration UkraineAndrey Yermak, confirmed this Wednesday that if Russia does not “stop in Ukraine, NATO will participate in this war.
During his speech at the Public Forum organized by the Royal Institute of Elcano on the sidelines of the summit NATO in Madrid, Yermak called the latest attacks “terrorist” Russia against the civilian population.
“Since 2014, Ukrainians have paid with their blood in the face of Russian pressure that violates the treaties they signed. We are facing ideologies and practices that remind us of the worst lessons of the last century,” he said.

In addition, he expressed regret that “any proposal for negotiations” Russia take it as a “sign of weakness”.
“They want to destroy our country, they want to erase the name of Ukraine from the map, but we know that if we give in, tomorrow it will go further,” he said.
Yermak welcomed the latest expansion decisions state members NATOwith future input Sweden and Finland and thought that with Ukraine Inside allianceit will be reinforced.
“If we were part of NATO we would help strengthen it,” he said.
Thus, in order to take “a step forward towards a safer world”, he called for “the establishment of an effective guarantee mechanism for Ukraine”.
“To this end, we have created with the Secretary General NATO an international research group that studies how Ukraine will strengthen its military potential, and we are also analyzing the economic situation and the possibility of introducing longer-term sanctions to prevent further aggression,” he explained.
He called for greater unity in several areas, citing “an efficient supply of weapons and ammunition in sufficient quantities to save the greatest number of people who die every day.”
