Russian representatives have taken several initiatives that provide criminal punishment for occult activities. There is also a proposal to oblige tarologists and numerologists to obtain a medical license.
State Duma deputy from United Russia Alexander Spiridonov said he is preparing a law that would provide criminal penalties for causing harm and love. He spoke about it on the Spas TV channel, reports The Moscow Times.
Spiridonov believes that these rituals will really affect the person in relation to whom it happened, so they can be considered an attempt on life and health.
“To ward off the evil eye, to bring back a loved one, to bring health problems to other people, this is an attempt to influence other people’s health and life,” said Spiridonov.
According to him, he is preparing a corresponding bill together with priest Fyodor Lukyanov. The document should also ban the advertising of “magic” services in Russia. In particular, we are talking about limiting access to information about fortune telling, astrology, psychics and mediums.
Member of the Supreme Council of the Strong public movement of Russia Dmitry Krasnov agreed with the representative, suggesting to equate the occult with extremism.
On October 4, State Duma deputy Andrei Svintsov came up with the initiative to ban tarot readers and numerologists in the country. He stressed that such people should be required to obtain a medical license. Without it, they will be considered “charlatans and swindlers”, who will begin to be imprisoned under criminal charges.
We remind you that recently in Russia they legalized an amnesty for all defendants who went to war. The law requires that defendants who enter into a contract for military service are exempt from criminal liability at the trial stage.
