It was noted that the head of one of the interdistrict medical and social expert commissions of Kharkov organized a scheme to prevent mobilization. He was accompanied by 12 accomplices in the execution of the plan, among them his subordinates, as well as the heads of various medical institutions in Kharkov and the region. One of the defendants, in addition to the director of the main health care center, is a deputy of the Kharkiv region city council.
For money, the suspects helped draft dodgers avoid conscription based on fake disability certificates.
The “clients” did not even go to the medical facility, and received all the necessary documentation about the fake “disability” by mail or through intermediaries. This allowed men to deregister for military service and go overseas.
The cost of such services ranges from 2 to 5 thousand US dollars.
It was reported that at first the defendants produced fabricated documents about the alleged existence of diseases, which were the basis for registration of disability. To do this, they falsified all the medical documentation of the client’s “illness” history, including his stay in hospital treatment. Then the transaction organizer ensures the preparation of a fictional decision of the medical and social expert commission on the appointment of a disabled group.
The defendants used their connections to find potential clients.
Due to the criminal actions of the group’s members, more than 400 people of military age have illegally evaded mobilization.
As a result of comprehensive measures, SBU officers detained the organizer and his accomplices.
At the same time, about 90 searches were conducted at the workplaces and residences of members of the criminal group and their vehicles.
During the investigation, many conscript files, draft records, mobile phones and computer equipment were seized.
Money worth more than 500 thousand US dollars, almost 80 thousand euros, more than 1 million UAH, as well as Russian rubles, which were probably obtained by criminal means, were also found.
The detainees are in custody. They face up to 8 years in prison.
The investigation continues to bring justice to all those responsible.
