The former people’s choice was accused of misusing more than UAH 1.5 billion from Cherkassyoblenergo and Zaporozhyeoblenergo companies.
The High Anti-Corruption Court on Friday, October 4, decided to take into custody in absentia a former representative of the people accused in the case of misappropriation of more than UAH 1.5 billion from Cherkassyoblenergo and Zaporozhyeoblenergo companies. This was reported by the VAKS press service.
It was learned that the HACC also decided to conduct a special trial against the former representative of the people in the absence of the accused (in absentia).
The court did not name the defendant, but the human rights organization Transparency International Ukraine writes that we are talking about Dmitry Kryuchkov.
They added that on October 3, 2024, the HACC panel of judges placed Dmitry Kryuchkov on the international wanted list. It was learned that the former people’s deputy went abroad on February 15, 2024 and never returned.
Kryuchkov is accused of embezzling more than UAH 1.5 billion from Cherkassyoblenergo and Zaporozhyeoblenergo companies. NABU detectives have been investigating the case of misuse of Zaporozhyeoblenergo property on a large scale since 2015.
Let’s recall that on April 15, 2020, Dmitry Kryuchkov was extradited from Germany, and later he testified in the case of corruption in the Ukrainian energy sector. A week later he was released from the pre-trial detention center on bail of 7 million hryvnias.
