By 2024, the pace of contract recruitment in the Russian Federation will increase at least six times. In the first half of 2024, more than 166 thousand contracts were concluded.
In the draft federal budget for 2025-2027, Russia has allocated 90 billion rubles for a one-time payment for the termination of a contract with the Ministry of Defense, which will allow the recruitment of up to 225 thousand new contracts soldier Russian media reported it.
Currently, such payment is 400 thousand rubles, which was established by order of Vladimir Putin on July 31, 2024. If the payment does not change, then the promised 90 billion rubles will be enough to recruit 225 thousand new contract workers in three years.
According to media reports, the amount planned in the budget may increase. Thus, in the first half of 2024, the Russian authorities have already spent more than 32 billion rubles on one-time payments to new contract soldiers. This is more than was budgeted for the entire next year.
In addition, it is reported that the Russian Ministry of Defense may overestimate the number of new contract soldiers by one and a half times.
According to the ministry, by April 2024, 640 thousand people had signed contracts, while only 426 thousand people had received lump sum payments at that time. In 2024, the rate of contract recruitment increased at least six times: in the first half of 2023, Russians signed 26.7 thousand new contracts, and in the first half of 2024 – more than 166 thousand. In the second half of 2023, the pace of recruitment of contract workers will increase significantly. In just one year, at least 345 thousand people signed contracts.
We remind you that the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin ordered to increase the staff level of the Russian army to 2 million 389 thousand people.
It has also been reported that in Russia defendants undergoing military service are exempt from criminal liability.
