The military will conduct a “limited offensive” in southern Lebanon to destroy Hezbollah’s infrastructure in the border area.
The Israeli military command assigned a second division to southern Lebanon for ground operations against Hezbollah. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced this on Wednesday, October 2.
It is indicated that the 36th Division is now joining the 98th Division, which entered Lebanon on Monday night.
The military described the ground operations in southern Lebanon as “limited, localized and targeted raids” aimed at destroying Hezbollah’s infrastructure in the border area.
According to the IDF, the 36th Division includes the Golani Brigade, 188th Armored Brigade, 6th Infantry Brigade and additional forces. In addition, the fighters were covered by the aviation and 282nd artillery brigade.
We remind you that on the night of September 30, the Israeli military launched a ground attack in Lebanon, hitting the southern suburbs of the country’s capital, Beirut.
And the day before it became known that Israel was mobilizing four reserve brigades to attack Lebanon.
