Commanders of military units can now personally select fighters without the participation of the TCC, taking into account their skills, experience and desire.
The Cabinet of Ministers made a corresponding decision. Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced this today, October 1, on his Facebook page.
For every Ukrainian and Ukrainian woman, this is a chance to find their place in the ranks of defenders, where their abilities will bring the greatest benefit,” Umerov emphasized. “I am convinced that this system will help us resist Russian aggression even more powerfully, combining the patriotic motivation of defenders with the urgent needs of the front.”
People’s Deputy Alexey Goncharenko reported in his Telegram channel that the Cabinet of Ministers today made the following changes to the Procedure for conscripting citizens for military service during mobilization:
- the commander of a military unit is given the right to provide directions for passing military training in order to determine the degree of suitability for military service;
- commanders of military units are given the right to recruit combat military units at the expense of volunteers who express a desire to serve under conscription;
- The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can determine the list of military units whose commanders call up reservists and those liable for military service.
