It will be possible to buy cannabis-based medicines with an e-prescription only from a pharmacy with the appropriate license.
The production and dispensing of medicines based on medical cannabis will be recorded in the electronic system for recording the circulation of medical cannabis (ESORK) and will only be carried out based on an e-prescription in the electronic health system. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health.
Direct dispensing of medicines in pharmacies starts when the appropriate herbal ingredients for making medicines in a pharmacy are delivered to the Ukrainian market or the medicines are ready.
All transactions carried out using medical cannabis will be recorded with ESORC. It is a centralized platform for recording, monitoring and controlling the circulation of cannabis for medical purposes, which will record more than 35 types of transactions for 13 types of accounting objects.
All business entities (legal entities, individual entrepreneurs) that will carry out activities related to the circulation of medical cannabis will be registered with ESORC.
The prescription and dispensing of ready-made or extemporaneous drugs (made in a pharmacy) will only be carried out based on an e-prescription. It can be prescribed by the patient’s attending physician (both primary and specialty care). You can buy drugs with an e-prescription only in a pharmacy with an appropriate license to carry out business activities in the field of circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors.
We remind you that in August a law on the legalization of medical cannabis began to work in Ukraine.
Previously, the Ministry of Health explained what diseases can prescribe drugs based on medical cannabis.
