France has sent an amphibious helicopter carrier with a battle group to the coast of Lebanon in case it needs to evacuate French citizens. This is what AFP reported on Tuesday, October 1.

The French Navy ship left the port of Toulon on September 30 for a temporary deployment off the coast of Lebanon as a “preventive measure.”

The landing helicopter carrier should reach the eastern Mediterranean in 5-6 days. It is equipped with helicopters and carries an onboard combat team that can be mobilized if necessary to evacuate French citizens.

Today there is no talk of evacuating French citizens.

France has three amphibious helicopter carriers: Mistral, Dixmude and Tonnerre. Which exactly landed on the shores of Lebanon is not specified.

We remind you that on the night of October 1, the Israeli army announced the start of a ground operation in southern Lebanon. In response, Hezbollah attacked the suburbs of Tel Aviv, and the Houthis attacked Tel Aviv and Eilat.
