The Kiev Court of Appeal ordered the State Bureau of Investigation to open a case against the ex-commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Sodol, about whom the chief of staff of the Azov brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, Bogdan Krotevich, complained.
Now, according to the new definition, no later than 24 hours after receiving a court ruling, the DBI must begin an investigation into negligent attitude towards military service, which resulted in grave consequences.
If there is no accountability, the generals will continue to fight with people as pawns, but we are not Russians, we do not have the right to do this. What we see on the front lines is attrition, this is the result of pre-managing the brigades like meat. This should not happen again,” commented Bogdan Krotevich.
In the summer of 2024, the chief of staff of the Azov brigade filed a complaint in court against the DBR due to the fact that they did not initiate a case against the ex-commander of the Joint Forces Sodol.
On his Telegram page, Bogdan Krotevich reported that on June 27 he received a response from the DBR, where he was told that his statement about Yuri Sodol would be added to the existing case, which indirectly examines the actions of the command of the OSUS “Khortitsa”.
The Chief of Staff believes that this DBR is violating the law and calls this behavior of the department “deliberate inaction.” Krotevich also noted that the DBI did not call him to testify, although he asked for this in his letter.
These actions, as well as communications between different people and some calls, made it clear to me that the order from above was “not to proceed with this matter,” Krotevich wrote.
