36-year-old Pavel Chaika died in an accident in Volyn.
His motorcycle drove into the oncoming lane on a highway near Lutsk.
A motorcyclist on a Harley Davidson drove into oncoming traffic and collided with a Ford Fusion driven by 30-year-old Vladimir. As a result of the collision, the motorcycle caught fire and its driver died. A 30-year-old passenger in the car was also injured but was not hospitalized, police said.
Pavel Chaika, call sign Seagl, is a legendary paratrooper of the 79th Airborne Brigade, the third full holder of the Order “For Courage” in the history of Ukraine, “cyborg”, holder of the Order “People’s Hero of Ukraine” since 2016.
As part of the 79th brigade, Pavel took part in heavy battles for Slavyansk, Zelenopole, Marinka, Debaltsevo bridgehead, Donetsk airport and many others.
Pavel Nikolaevich Chaika was born on June 24, 1988 in the city of Rozhishche into a family of doctors. At the age of 15, he already studied at the Volyn Regional Military Lyceum, after graduating he entered the Faculty of Law of the Lesya University of Ukraine in the correspondence department in order to go to military service in the army.
After military service in the airborne forces, he signed a contract. When the war began in the east, Pavel already had a second contract.
The ATO for the military began in March 2014. Pavel Chaika was one of the first wounded paratroopers near Krasny Liman, went through heavy battles near Zelenopole, defended Donetsk airport, and participated in battles on the Debaltseve bridgehead.
For Ukrainian Armed Forces captain Pavel Chaika, the war with the Russian invader lasted more than ten years.
