As a result of a multi-stage special operation in Kyiv, the “reactivated” agent group of the Main Directorate of General Staff from the Russian Federation (known as GRU) was neutralized. This was reported on July 1 by the press service of the SBU.
It was noted that four Russian agents were detained, who scouted the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the geolocation of strategic objects, and also called on Ukrainians to support the occupiers.
The enemy group was formed by a GRU career officer, Colonel Vladislav Donets, to conduct explosive activities against Ukraine.
“He was part of the group of occupation of the Russian Federation on the territory of the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions and organized the activities of Russian agents. At the same time, the group was directly led by a representative of the terrorist organization” MDB LPR “Valentin “For communication, they used pre-developed closed communication channels,” the SBU said. .
It was reported that among the members of the intelligence group there was a clear distribution of areas of responsibility for the implementation of tasks.
Thus, two Kyiv residents scouted the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the location of critical infrastructure facilities. They also collected personal data of current and former Ukrainian military and law enforcement officers.
Another resident of the capital, who became a former law enforcement officer of the Donetsk region, was responsible for information and subversive activities. He distributes pro-Kremlin propaganda, including slogans supporting the occupiers, and also oversees special Internet platforms.
In this direction, he acted together with another member of the group – the founder of an IT company from Gostomel, which is engaged in the preparation and distribution of materials in which he justifies the crimes of the occupiers.
During the searches, pro-Russian symbols, means of communication and electronic media were found handless.

Recall, the SBU announced the detention of Russian agents who corrected the missile strikes and collected intelligence. The traitors were identified in the Lvov, Donetsk and Chernihiv regions, as well as in Kyiv.
It was also reported that the intelligence network of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of Russia was exposed, which would have helped the enemy in seizing the country. This includes People’s Deputy Andrei Derkach.
