Reportedly, both gas pipeline strings will be discontinued for planned maintenance work, including testing of mechanical components and automation systems.
It was noted that the work schedule and plan were agreed in advance with Nord Stream AG partners for gas transportation upstream and downstream.
In June, Gazprom reduced gas supplies to Europe via Nord Stream 1 by 60%. The Turkish Stream also stopped for a week.
At the same time, Gazprom could use the free capacity of the Ukrainian GTS and the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline, but it did not, exacerbating the gas crisis in Europe.
Overall, in five and a half months, Gazprom reduced exports by almost a third – to 65 billion cubic meters of gas.
