No changes to the head of state’s work schedule are planned for next week on the agenda.
Latvian President Edgars Rinkevich broke his wrist and fingers on his right hand when he fell from a bicycle. The head of state announced this on Sunday, September 29, on his Facebook page.
The president wrote that his cycling season was over, and also thanked the doctors “for helping a not very smart patient.”
According to Presidential Communications Adviser Martins Dregeris, the injury will not affect the politician’s work: he can write and sign documents.
According to local media, Rinkevich fell off his bicycle while cycling on the Oline-Dalbe-Oline section on September 28. He went to the hospital the next day. There he was diagnosed with fractures and placed in a plaster cast.
Earlier, American leader Joe Biden fell from his bicycle while trying to get off it while traveling in Cape Hanlopen State Park.
