In the premises of the Poltava Regional Military Administration today, September 27, at about 12.00, a 71-year-old resident of another region doused himself with a flammable liquid and set himself on fire.
This was reported by the press service of the Poltava region police.
The police officers who provided security at the POV premises extinguished the flames on his clothes and called an ambulance. The man was hospitalized with burns, the report said. – A police investigative team and forensic specialists are working on the spot. Law enforcement officers are establishing the motives for the action and the circumstances of the incident.
The local publication “Poltavashchyna”, citing information received from its own sources, reports:

He had an unstable psychological state, which turned out to be his repeated complaints against the head of the regional police, Yevgeny Rogachev, who allegedly steals tomatoes from him and persecutes him, the publication notes.
According to the Kremenchugskaya Gazeta publication, the man is an immigrant from Mariupol.
Previously, the man’s neighbors said that he was behaving inappropriately, but he himself refused psychological recognition, the publication notes.
