The Arctic LNG 2 project, implemented by the Russian company Novatek, has come under Western sanctions because of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Due to the sanctions, India will refuse to buy liquefied natural gas under the Arctic LNG 2 project. Reuters reported this.
“We will not buy supplies from Arctic LNG 2. We are not buying any sanctioned goods. If a product is subject to broad sanctions, we will not touch it,” Indian Energy Secretary Pankaj Jain said.
It was noted that the Arctic LNG 2 project, implemented by the Russian company Novatek, was subject to Western sanctions due to Russia’s war against Ukraine.
The United States has also imposed restrictions against hundreds of companies and individuals supporting Russia’s military campaign, in particular, companies involved in the development of Arctic LNG 2 and its logistical support.
We remind you that sanctions have cooled the construction of LNG plants by Russian Novatek.
Earlier it was reported that all Indian oil refineries are refusing to accept Russian crude oil transported by tankers of the sanctioned Sovcomflot.
