Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized China and Brazil.
Countries that are looking for alternatives to the Ukrainian peace formula are playing along with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. In particular, this concerns China and Brazil. The head of state said this on September 25 at a meeting of the UN General Assembly, which was broadcast live.
When some propose alternative, half-hearted plans for a settlement – the so-called “sets of principles” – this not only ignores the interests and suffering of the Ukrainians who have been most affected by the war, this not only ignores reality, but also gives the path political space to continue the war and put pressure on the world to conquer more countries, he noted.
Zelensky stressed that any alternative to the Ukrainian plan for “peace” initiatives is an attempt to achieve calm, not an end to the war. He also added that alternatives to the Ukrainian formula for peace or ignoring it is a desire to “do part of what Putin is doing.”
And when the Chinese-Brazilian duo tries to turn into a chorus of voices – with someone in Europe, with someone in Africa, who says something alternative to a full and fair peace, the question arises – what is the real interest? Everyone must understand – you cannot strengthen your power at the expense of Ukraine, – the president said during his speech.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Beijing continues to adhere to the position that ending the war in Ukraine requires an immediate ceasefire, the start of negotiations and abstention from sanctions and economic pressure.
Let us recall that President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking at the UN Security Council, said that Russia’s war against Ukraine will end because the UN Charter will work. And for this, it is necessary to prepare a second Peace Summit and invited everyone who respects the UN Charter to join.
