The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that singer Alina Grosu does not hold any diplomatic position.
Grosu previously reported on her Instagram that she is “now the official representative of Ukrainian culture in New York,” and a number of media outlets wrote that she had received a diplomatic position.
The news that Grosu became the official representative of Ukrainian culture in New York on a permanent basis was spread by a number of popular news resources on September 23.
Journalists referred to the singer’s Instagram video, in which she talked in the credits about her visit to dinner with New York Mayor Eric Adams. At the end of the video, she did indeed note that she was “now the official representative of Ukrainian culture in New York.”

At the same time, the Foreign Ministry said that they do not know where the information about Grosu receiving a diplomatic position came from. They emphasized that this is not true.
29-year-old singer Grosu was born in Chernivtsi. She began working professionally in show business at the age of seven, when she moved to Kyiv. She became popular thanks to the song and video “Bee”. She participated in the festival “Song of the Year” and the contest “Junior Eurovision”.
In 2010, after completing 11th grade externally, Grosu entered the Institute of Cinematography in Moscow. She continued recording songs and starred in films. In the spring of 2023, she went to the United States to study at the Hollywood School of Acting.
