Ukraine also rejected Lukashenko’s “hypocritical rhetoric” about the “principles” of cooperation with Ukraine’s temporarily occupied territories.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemned the holding of an “official” meeting between the self-proclaimed President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and the representative of the Russian occupation authorities in the temporarily occupied part of the territory of the region of Donetsk of Ukraine, Denis Pushilin. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, September 22.
The department called the meeting “another manifestation of the Republic of Belarus’s disregard for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
It was noted that this meeting is another confirmation that the position of the current government of Belarus on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine is dictated only by the instructions of the Kremlin and has nothing to do with international law or international obligations of the Republic of Belarus.
Ukraine also rejected Lukashenko’s “hypocritical rhetoric” about the “principles” of cooperation with the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and considered it further evidence of support for the war of aggression against our state.
The Foreign Ministry also called on the Belarusian people to realize that behind the repeated contacts between Belarusian officials and Russian puppets from our temporarily occupied territories, Lukashenko’s constant statements about to his “warm feelings” for the “brotherly Ukrainian people” sounded like sarcasm. , and his practical actions destroy the mutual respect, on which the relations between the Ukrainian and Belarusian peoples are built.
“The aforementioned unfriendly actions of the political leadership of Belarus cannot remain without a proper response and will have negative consequences for Ukrainian-Belarusian relations,” the Foreign Ministry summarized in an official statement.
We remind you that the dictator of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, says that apparently someone is “offering him to take his mind off the Russian Federation and side with Ukraine.”
Earlier, Lukashenko said that Belarus was “forced” to move almost a third of its army to the Ukrainian border.
