The Russian army struck a mine in the Donetsk region.
The shelling caused a fire in the mine, but no combustion products entered the mine. At the time of the incident, there were 371 miners in the mine. The workers were brought to the surface and the fire was extinguished. The Ministry of Energy reported this on September 22 on Telegram.
So far, two people have died. Another victim was taken to hospital.
The department noted that over the past 24 hours, power was cut off in Donetsk, Poltava and Sumy regions due to shelling and military actions. In particular, a fire broke out in Sumy region and the substation was switched off. And the overhead power line was cut off in Dnipropetrovsk region. In Poltava region, Russian UAVs struck the territory of a substation – a fire broke out, the substation and consumers were cut off.
Let us recall that on September 12, the city of Dobropillya and nearby settlements were cut off from power due to Russian shelling. Coal mines were left without electricity, and 151 miners were stuck underground. There was also a threat of flooding of mining equipment.
