The country’s President Isaac Herzog said that Israel is not currently interested in a war with Lebanon.
Israel has denied involvement in the mass bombing of pagers belonging to Hezbollah members. Israeli President Isaac Herzog noted that the Lebanese group has many enemies. The head of state announced this in an interview with Sky News.
“Hezbollah has many enemies. Hezbollah is strangling Lebanon, destroying Lebanon, creating chaos over and over again. We are here to defend ourselves. That is all we are doing. And we have made it clear that we must act. As we will normal country, as Great Britain or any other sovereign country would do, to protect its people,” the president emphasized.
The Duke also noted that Israel is not interested in war in Lebanon. At the same time, he added that there is a possibility of “dramatic escalation” between the countries.
As reported, the second wave of explosions began in Lebanon on Wednesday, but this time various gadgets, mopeds and even cars exploded.
Let’s remember that on September 17, pagers used by Hezbollah militants exploded almost simultaneously in different parts of Lebanon. At least 11 people died, about 4 thousand were injured, and the condition of 400 victims was assessed as critical.
