According to Malgorzata Perkowska-Kipas from the Kielce City Police Commandant’s Office, according to preliminary data, a 65-year-old minibus driver driving in the direction of Opatow for unknown reasons left his lane, crashed into a tree, then the car overturned. on the right side.
The bus driver died on the spot. Eighteen people were injured. 14 of them were taken to hospitals in Kielce, Opatow and Staszew. Four people did not require hospitalization. The 43-year-old youth football coach died in hospital a few hours later.
Three Air Rescue Service helicopters landed at the scene.
According to the passengers, the driver seems to have lost consciousness. If it wasn’t for the coach who grabbed the steering wheel and turned it, there might have been more victims of the accident.
