In the Donetsk region, near the city of Dobropillya, 56-year-old Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Nikityuk was killed as a result of a missile strike.
This was reported today, September 21, on the Facebook page of the Vladimir City Council.
Since 1991, he worked in law enforcement agencies, in particular, he worked as deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Volyn region and deputy head of the police in the Kherson region.
After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, he served as an advisor to the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny and served in a leadership position in the Military Law Enforcement Service.
The deceased is survived by his wife and two sons.
Zaluzhny, now Ukraine’s ambassador to the UK, also confirmed Nikityuk’s death on his Facebook page.
