Billions will be allocated to Ukraine as part of the obligations of the G7 countries, explained Ursula von der Leyen.
The European Union will provide Ukraine with a loan of up to 35 billion euros. This was announced by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on the social network X on Friday, September 20.
According to him, the fact that the Russian attack does not stop indicates that Ukraine needs constant support from the EU.
“The European Commission will provide Ukraine with a loan of up to 35 billion euros as part of the G7 commitments. This is another significant EU contribution to Ukraine’s recovery,” von der Leyen wrote.
Earlier, the media reported that the European Union planned to provide Ukraine with a loan of up to 40 billion euros by the end of 2024, regardless of US participation.
Let’s recall that in June, the G7 leaders agreed on $50 billion for Ukraine, which will be allocated in the form of a loan and will be paid from the profits from the investment of Russia’s frozen assets. However, after this, disagreements arose between the EU and the US on the details.
