Today, September 18, the Verkhovna Rada, with the votes of 298 elected representatives, adopted bill No. 1417 as a whole on increasing the budget this year by UAH 500 billion for military needs.
People’s Deputy Irina Gerashchenko reported this on her Telegram channel.
Thus, expenses this year amount to a record UAH 3.73 trillion for Ukraine, he emphasized.
This bill proposes:
- adjust the expenditure side of the state budget by UAH 434 billion 603.5 million, increase expenditure on individual budget programs by UAH 500 billion 311.9 million (including UAH 495 billion 311.9 million for the security and defense sector) and reduce expenditure on providing loans by UAH 65 billion 708.4 million;
- provide the opportunity, by decision of the Cabinet of Ministers and with the consent of the relevant creditor, to direct loans for the implementation of investment projects;
- direct the remaining funds from the budget to restoration, construction, modernization, and development;
- to direct funds from the enterprise “Ukraina Turistichna” and the “Ukrainian Institute of Intellectual Property” to the needs of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
At the same time, Gerashchenko notes, the Rada did not support any amendment that proposed redirecting funds from the telethon and road construction to the army.
