A large-scale forest fire is raging in the Poltava region – dry vegetation and forest litter are currently burning over an area of about 50 hectares.
The fire damaged 26 residential buildings and 24 outbuildings. 400 firefighters, four fire trains and more than 70 units of equipment are trying to extinguish the fire. This was reported on Facebook by the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Filipp Pronin.
69 residents of the villages of Pudlovka, Dubina, Mankovka, Sobkovka and Balovka of the Novosanzharsky community had to be evacuated. The OVA emphasizes that the victims are receiving all the necessary assistance: food, shelter and financial support.
Nine adults and two children were accommodated in the Novosanzharsky sanatorium and preventorium “Antey”. They were provided with three meals a day and were given access to a psychologist of the State Emergency Service.
The authorities are also working on restoring electricity and doing everything possible to protect the harvest.
Let us recall that large forest fires have broken out in the Rostov region of Russia – about 60 fires have been recorded there. From there, the flames are probably spreading to the occupied Luhansk region. In particular, in the village of Olkhovo in the Stanichno-Lugansk community, located near the border, the fire has already destroyed dozens of residential buildings.
