Remember some of the great Disney villains’ sidekicks who managed to stand out and became the public’s favorites.
In addition to unforgettable protagonists, ranging from princes and princesses to fairies or charismatic figures, Disney also has a gigantic list of memorable villains, including names such as the Evil Queen, Cruella De Vil, Ursula, Gaston, Captain Hook and many more.
In order to put their plan into practice and do everything they can to make life difficult for the good guys, many antagonists rely on helpers who generally have a friendlier personality than their bosses, and end up serving as a kind of comic relief for the plot.
With that in mind, RECREIO has brought you an incredible list of five sidekicks to great villains from Disney animations that are impossible to forget. Check it out!
1. Kronk (The Emperor’s New Groove)
Kronk, from “The Emperor’s New Groove”, is the opposite of his boss, Yzma. While the woman has completely malicious intentions and some fits of rage, the big guy, many times, appears very clumsy, as well as a little innocent. It was thanks to his captivating personality that he even got his own movie, “Kronk’s New Groove”, released in 2005.
2. Mr. Smee (Peter Pan)
Captain Hook from “Peter Pan” is one of Disney’s most memorable villains, known for his impetuous and even violent personality. Smee, his right-hand man, however, is the complete opposite. In addition to not having the famous pirate scowl, the gentleman is also very helpful and loves helping others — making the other crew members of the ship mock him more easily.
3. LeFou (Beauty and the Beast)
Despite trying to be intimidating like Gaston from “Beauty and the Beast”, LeFou is extremely clumsy, being his boss’s favorite “punching bag”. His name even refers to his own personality, since, according to the ScreenRant portal, LeFou in French means “the fool”.
4. Iago (Aladdin)
Unlike other villains’ sidekicks, Iago is one of the characters whose thoughts most align with his boss’s, as he is always looking for ways to make his evil plans more directly affect Aladdin and the Sultan. However, even though he is also evil, the scarlet macaw still has countless comical moments for always shouting in Jafar’s ear.
5. Shenzi, Banzai and Ed (The Little Mermaid)
When they are serious, Shenzi, Banzai and Ed, the hyenas from “The Little Mermaid”, can convey an extremely intimidating image, in addition to being great henchmen, obeying everything Jafar imposes on them. However, when they open their mouths, we can see how clumsy each of the three are.
