In the Poltava region, as a result of a large forest fire, 69 residents of the village were evacuated from the fire that damaged 26 residential buildings and 24 buildings. The head of the Poltava Regional Administration, Philip Pronin, announced this on September 17.
According to him, people from the villages of Pudlovka, Dubina, Mankovka, Sobkovka and Balovka of the Novosanzharsk commune were evacuated. The victims are given the necessary assistance: food, overnight shelter, financial support. Currently, nine adults and two children are accommodated in the Novosanzharsky sanatorium-preventorium Antey. The psychologist of the State Emergency Service is in contact with them.
Power restoration issues are also being considered and everything possible is being done to protect the crop.
Fire fighting continues. While dry plants and forest wastes are burning in an area of about 50 hectares. More than 400 workers from related services extinguished the fire. Four firefighting trains and more than 70 pieces of equipment were involved.
