Currently, law enforcement agencies are taking the necessary investigative actions to establish the circumstances of the crime.
In the case of the possible murder of a Ukrainian serviceman, representatives of the Russian Army have previously established the crime scene shown in the photos in the city of Novogrodovka, Pokrovsky district, Donetsk region. This was reported by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General on Tuesday, September 17.
While the head of the Department for Combating Crimes Committed in Armed Conflict was cited in the Office of the Prosecutor General, Denis Lysenko, the necessary investigative actions are now being carried out to establish the circumstances of the crime.
“We are trying to establish the exact time, the victim, as well as the people involved in committing this crime,” said Lysenko.
In addition to the direct perpetrators, the investigation will also gather information about the commanders.
“Unfortunately, such cases are systematic in nature. To date, law enforcement agencies have launched 36 criminal proceedings on the possible killing of prisoners of war on the battlefield immediately after capture. ” said Lysenko.
Four representatives of the armed forces of the Russian Federation were notified on suspicion of committing such crimes. It is worth noting that two have already received sentences in Ukrainian courts, and another indictment is being heard in court.
We remind you that the Russians killed an unarmed Ukrainian prisoner of war with a sword.
Earlier, the Russian military brutally shot two Ukrainian prisoners of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Rabotino in the direction of Zaporozhye.
