Since at least February 2022, Denis Postovoy has been buying and illegally exporting from the United States electronic components that can be used to make drones.
Russian Denis Postovoy is detained in the United States on charges of violating export restrictions, money laundering and illegal supplies of dual-use and military microelectronics to Russia. This was announced yesterday by the US Department of Justice.
It is indicated that the 44-year-old Russian lives in the city of Sarasota (Florida). Since at least February 2022, he has been buying and illegally exporting from the United States electronic components that can be used to make drones.
The guard did this through a network of companies he owned or managed in the Russian Federation, Hong Kong and other countries. He does not have the necessary licenses from the US Department of Commerce.
The guard has ties to the companies WowCube HK Limited, JST Group Hong Kong, Jove HK Limited, based in Hong Kong, and Vector Group in the Russian Federation.
The Russians have repeatedly concealed and deceived the real end users and final destinations of microelectronics by providing false information in export documents. He transshipped goods ultimately destined for the Russian Federation through intermediate destinations, particularly Hong Kong and Switzerland, and received payments in dollars from foreign bank accounts.
Prior to this, Hungarian citizen Bence Horvath was imprisoned in the United States. He is suspected of violating restrictions on the export of goods to Russia.
