The Ukrainian side will send units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine to help Moldova, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary.
Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiga said Ukraine stands in solidarity with its neighbors who are suffering from devastating floods. Currently, our state has offered assistance to six affected countries, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday, September 15.
“On the instructions of President Vladimir Zelensky and the coordination of Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, we invited Moldova, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic to send units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine to help deal with the disaster,” the message said.
The department also expressed condolences for the loss of life and destruction from the floods in Central Europe.
“Our thoughts are with all the affected communities. We want our neighbors to overcome the natural disaster as soon as possible,” added the Foreign Ministry.
We remind you that in eastern Romania, five people have become victims of flooding caused by heavy rains. Due to flooding in Poland and the Czech Republic, some trains bound for Ukraine were temporarily cancelled.
