Latvia has pledged to provide military support to Ukraine in the amount of 0.25% of GDP annually until at least 2026.
Latvia will transfer the CVR(T) armored reconnaissance vehicle previously purchased from the UK to the Ukrainian Defense Forces. This was reported by the country’s Ministry of Defense in a comment to the Latvian agency Leta on Sunday, September 15.
The department did not detail the terms of the obligations, including the exact number of vehicles they plan to transfer to Ukraine.
Latvia has pledged to provide military support to Ukraine in the amount of 0.25% of GDP annually until at least 2026. In the past, Ukraine has been equipped with various types of weapons and equipment, including helicopters and self-propelled howitzers, previously purchased from Austria.
The agreement signed with Great Britain provided for the supply of 123 CVR(T) armored vehicles – 116 modernized and seven without major repairs for training mechanics. The first vehicles were delivered to Latvia in the fall of 2015.
